Musical notes on a plate

Last night, I treated myself to a delicious meal at one of the fancy restaurants on the island.  Little did I know there would be a musical treat included! While we daintily ate our delicious three course meal we listened to the incredibly talented musician sing "No Woman No Cry", "My Girl" and a couple of other numbers including Maroon 5.

Porter Mill Chenin Blanc

I tried to be all photography-ish and take photos of things but because I got carried away with good conversation and an amazing Porter Mill Chenin Blanc (A proudly South African wine) I simply forgot to take a photo of the rich but equally scrumptious dessert.

My starter: Crab, rocket and pomegranate salad which I munched down with lightly buttered seeded bread

My friend's starter: Ham hock terrine with cornichons (gherkins) and a micro herb salad. She is gluten intolerant and therefore had to make do without scrummy sourdough bread.
Talking got in the way of taking a proper photo of our main courses so I just took a photo of my half devoured main course as I didn't want to disturb my chomping friend.
Main Course: Gressingham Duck with Swiss potato Rosti, broccoli and Grand Marnier sauce
Friend's Main Course: Sunblush tomato, onion and goats cheese tart with a micro herb salad AND french fries and mayo (Haha, she has a weakness for french fries - they were delicious though!)
Due to my friend's gluten intolerance (oh and lactose intolerance) she was unable to have ANY of the desserts so they brought her a special passion fruit sorbet which was very passion fruity but delicious! I settled for Lemon Posset with warm vanilla shortbread and white chocolate twirls. Sorry hips!

To top off the evening, we then headed downstairs for a very alcoholic Berry cocktail a la Amy! We sipped on the drinks while listening to the closing numbers of the musician's set. I filmed a couple of the songs but found "My Girl" to be the best. Sadly, this blog won't allow me to upload the video so unfortunately for you there will be no video!
